Our Story

1990’s

Michael Haith and Michael Edwards lead multiple franchise organizations with in-house development teams.

2000’s

While experiencing the joys of growing healthy franchising systems, they also experience the pains of franchise sales staff turnover, lack of performance and rising labor costs.

2008

Haith and Edwards get excited about the rise of outsourcing as an option for franchisors but discover they will need to give up equity, split their royalty stream, and sign long-term contracts.

2014

Edwards and Haith partner with Brent Dowling to provide a fresh, new approach to franchise development. Raintree is launched, creating an affordable, flexible, proven sales and marketing option for franchisors.

Brent Dowling

CEO

Brent was the youngest Australian representative at the United Nations in history, but left that career after falling in love with franchising.

He took a $15 an hour marketing job with the first franchise company he could find. In the 10 years following, he has utilized the franchise industry to become a Franchise Owner of 3 brands and a Franchisor of 2 brands.

Hobbies: Spending time with his wife, daughter and three golden retrievers, snowboarding, surfing, Australian football, traveling, blockchain and crypto-currencies, and obsessing over franchising.

Advice to new Franchise Owners: The American dream is an entirely real thing. I believe franchising is the best vehicle for people to achieve their version of it. I’ve found the key is to make sure you pick the right one.

As the Vice President of Operations at Raintree, Sundi is responsible for overseeing all aspects of operations.

Brian Knuth

Vice President of Development

Brian has been wondering what he’ll be when he grows up…and that question is still unanswered!  Starting his professional career in an entrepreneurial role of owner operator, he quickly experienced the satisfaction of autonomy.

In 2012 he took a leap of faith and completely reinvented himself from an Arborist to a Franchise Development Guy!  Over the past several years he has represented a multitude of franchise concepts, across a variety of industries, and continuously learning about new ways to create financial freedom.

Brian has become a franchise owner of Footprints Floors and plans to continue the path of business ownership.

Hobbies: Family time, you can find Brian spending time in the woods with his family and friends; camping, fishing, riding dirt bikes, and escaping the day to day stresses whenever possible.

Advice to new Franchise Owners: Relax and trust (follow) the process.  You have to keep in mind that you are brand new at operating this specific business, and it’s gonna take time to become a pro…take a deep breath and enjoy the journey. …oh, and make sure you have budgeted accordingly!
